3. Allow the primer to dry completely.
4. Use a paint roller to once again paint the entire floor with the base color you have chosen and allow the base coat to thoroughly dry.
5. Choose a complementary color to your base coat color. With paint brushes and buckets or pans of your base color and color of choice apply the two colors in unequal amounts. Mix the two colors until they blend but you can see distinct streaks and swirls. Do not allow the paint to dry completely.
6. Apply a third color, different from the other two by dappling it on with a sponge before the other two colors have dried.
7. Use a flared paintbrush to brush back and forth across the surface giving the flooring a feathered look.
8. Give the floor at least 24 hours to dry depending on weather conditions.
9. Apply a coat of polyurethane with a good quality paintbrush and allow to dry. Follow up with a second coat of polyurethane once the first coat has dried.
